close up of piano keysYour piano is a delicate instrument that must be properly cared for. However, even with regular tuning and maintenance, some issues can arise with your instrument. If you notice any of the following, it may be time to call Main Street Music for piano repair in Boston:

The Piano is Continuously Out of Tune

Every pianist knows that their instrument needs regular tuning to stay in shape. It is also important to keep track of how often your piano is tuned. At most, you will need to tune it once or twice a year depending on the age of the piano. If you find yourself getting your piano tuned too frequently because the instrument is constantly drifting out of tune, it may be time to get repairs.

Soft Keys

Piano keys should have a decent rebound when struck. If your piano keys fall when you press them, you will need to have your piano repaired. The bounce in the keys is essential for good piano playing.

Tinny Sound

If you notice that the piano sounds a bit tinny, this is a sign that the hammers need to be repaired. Strings sound tinny when struck with something hard, so the padding on the hammers may have worn away.

These are just three of the warning signs that your piano needs repair services. Stay tuned for our next post, where we will discuss three additional signs that it’s time to have your piano repaired.
